About Offworld:

Offworld Industries Ltd. (Offworld) is the independent studio behind the successful military first-person shooter game, “Squad”. Offworld was formed in 2014 by more than 15 developers who had worked together on the well known Project Reality mod for Battlefield 2. The founding purpose of the team was to bring a standalone successor of this acclaimed mod to market and build a game development studio and a livelihood from that foundation.

Fast forward to 2024, Offworld has over 140 employees and is rapidly growing. We have been expanding the studio into serving as a publisher supporting mods and have just released our new title into early access, "Starship Troopers: Extermination", a 16-player PvE first-person shooter based on the 1997 cult-classic film.

We strive to become a leader in creating large-scale multiplayer games as well as supplying others with the ability to do the same. We are looking for a talented 3D Generalist for our current and upcoming Unreal Engine based multiplayer games. About the role:
As an Intermediate 3D Generalist at Offworld Industries you will play a crucial role in shaping the visual elements of our projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating detailed and immersive 3D assets, with a focus on weapons, characters, and environments.

Job Duties:

• 3D Asset Creation: Design and produce high-quality 3D assets, including environments and weapons adhering to project specifications and artistic direction.
• Texturing and Shading: Apply textures and shaders to enhance the visual appeal of 3D assets, ensuring they align with the overall art style of the project.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the art, design, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of 3D assets into the game or project.
• Optimization: Implement best practices for asset optimization to ensure optimal performance in real-time environments, particularly in Unreal Engine or equivalent tech .
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve artistic challenges and technical issues related to 3D asset creation and integration.
• Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of workflows, processes, and techniques for future reference.Integrating third-party SDKs and Unreal Engine updates

Requirements :

• Proven experience as a 3D Generalist with a portfolio showcasing proficiency in creating environments and weapons.
• Strong skills in 3D modeling, texturing, and shading using industry-standard software (e.g., Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter).
• Experience working with Unreal Engine or similar tech, and a solid understanding of its capabilities and workflows.
• Solid understanding of PBR (Physically Based Rendering) principles and their application in game development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements.
• Familiarity with Unreal Engine
  

Bonus Skills:

• Animation/rigging knowledge
• Experience in Fusion 360, Marvellous Designer and Substance Designer is a plus

This is a full-time permanent position.

The typical salary range for this position is $71,000-88,000 CAD per year and is subject to change. The final agreed upon salary is based on work location and may vary depending on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
