Staff Design Program Manager

Design Program Managers operate within the Design and Insights organization and have a keen sense of the product design process. This enables them to develop and manage design-wide programs, drive cross-team design-led projects, and improve the effectiveness of the Design and Insights team’s roadmap. The right candidate will be an excellent communicator, comfortable in a fast-moving organization, and eager to collaborate to solve difficult challenges. This is a staff DPM role, reporting into the Chief of Staff to our CTO, but will be deeply embedded within the Design and Insights organization. A successful candidate will leverage their craft and operation acumen, and excellent leadership skills to build scalable processes and frameworks utilized across Design. The ideal candidate is an organized, productive, first-principles thinker, who is able to thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios, and is willing to adapt to the needs of the business.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Partner closely with Design leadership, focusing on our horizontal teams (Design Systems, Product Creative, Insights).
• Drive design-led initiatives by involving cross-functional partners in the development of long-term goals and strategic objectives and the planning and operational reviews necessary to achieve them.
• Utilize appropriate mechanisms to ensure the success of our programs, including setting up programs, defining user-centered processes, communication and project management of progress, or developing new processes to ensure work is of high quality and informed by user feedback
• Be an internal consultant and thought partner within the org to demonstrate how Design Program Manager methodologies can enable the success of our strategic initiatives
• Mature and manage our change management process
• As needed, own and manage business-critical initiatives through strong cross-functional collaboration, prioritization, and tracking of progress and milestones

You Will Thrive In This Role If:

• 5+ years of design operations experience at a product-focused company or agency, Design management, or product management experience.
• Experienced in driving strategy through building scalable operational processes, with quality and feasibility trade-offs accounted for
• Experienced in developing and articulating organizational goals and managing planning in order to achieve them
• Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders
• Comfortable presenting and communicating design issues and phases of the work to a variety of audiences
• Support established programs aimed at learning and inspiration within the design team. Train teams where relevant on best practices or new tools/processes.
• Keen design eye and attention to details. Stay attuned to the team's evolving needs. Conduct your own user research and gather insights so we can ensure we are creating tools, processes, and rituals that work for our practice.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $205,000 to $225,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
