Senior VFX Artist

We are now looking for a Senior VFX Artist

Arrowhead is now looking for a talented senior artist within the field of visual effects to join our growing studio. As a senior VFX artist you will be responsible for creating visuals that ensure a feast for the eyes in our game: Helldivers 2! As a senior VFX artist at Arrowhead, you will have a lot of freedom and autonomy to plan your own days. Together with the different feature teams you will find out what types of effects are needed and together with your feature team you will be responsible for exploring the best ways of implementing the effects. Depending on the type of effect, you will need to adapt your approach to creating and planning your work.

Especially, as a Senior VFX artist your communication between disciplines and feature teams is key to the success of the role.

What you'll do

• Work with feature teams to implement different effects
• Own the content creation pipeline for different particle effects
• Together with your team, plan work to meet requirements and deadlines
• Deliver effects to the requested level; mockup, alpha or polish
• Iterate on effects depending on feedback

Our requirements

• Ability to create high quality and performant effects. Taking them from start to finish, including texturing, materials, meshes, animation and hooking it up.
• Ability to create materials using a node based system
• Experience creating VFX for realistic style game projects
• Basic understanding of 3D modeling
• Strong sense of movement, impact and form within visual effects
• Actively interested in debugging and performance tooling to verify your particle effects behave as they should and are performant.

Bonus qualifications

• Experience using Houdini, EmberGen, FumeFX
• Experience using Substance Designer
• Experience using procedural workflows
• Experience writing HLSL

Practical Information

Scope: Full-time: 40 hours per week with initial 6 month probation period.
Location: Office first, hybrid solution possible. You need to be eligble to work in Sweden.

We are a pet friendly office! You can expect to find dogs and occasionally some cats around.
