Manual QA Engineer Gaming

Join our team as a QA Engineer at CoolGames where you'll contribute to the entire lifecycle of HTML5 casual game development – from inception to live maintenance. As a key player, you'll champion the delivery of top-notch products, becoming an integral part of an agile, multidisciplinary, and creatively charged game development team.

About the job

As a QA Engineer at CoolGames, you take responsibility for delivering high quality products. Your teamwork will be fundamental to the success of the products you work on. During a workday you might be testing, reviewing requirements and functional requirements, drafting test cases or collaborating with teammates to figuring out tricky bugs among other things.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Testing games manually (black box testing);
• Identify and track project issues;
• Pay attention to user experience, gameplay mechanics, graphics, and audio elements to ensure a seamless gaming experience;
• Participate in the planning and execution of QA activities throughout all phases of the sprint lifecycle;
• Reviewing and testing requirements;
• Facilitating smooth releases;
• Reviewing game design documents and functional specifications;
• Creating test documentation (test reports; checklists and test cases);
• Provide feedback and suggestions to improve quality and game experience.

Requirements

About you

You like to troubleshoot technical problems and try to get to the root of why weird error messages come up. You are proactive and used to taking ownership and responsibility. You are not afraid of information analysis. You see yourself as a good team player.

• Good written and verbal communications skills in English - ability to describe identified issues in a clear and concise manner;
• At least 2 year of relevant experience in software testing (gamedev is a plus);
• Experience with multiple platforms (mobile, desktop, web, social platforms);
• Experience with Jira or similar software;
• Experience with TestRail or similar software is a plus;
• Knowledgeable about SDLC and STLC;
• Experience with Agile development processes and tools;
• Attention to detail;
• A methodical, scientific and analytical mindset is a strong plus;
• Flexibility to adapt to changes in project requirements and to work as per shift timings applicable to the project.
