The ideal candidate has a solid track record of designing and delivering successful free to play action/adventure games, with experience of managing a talented and diverse team of designers.Experience of developing for VR is not essential, as our experienced team will be able to rapidly orientate a mind hungry for new challenges.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESAssist the Game Director in implementing the project vision in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate with production, tech and art leads to build a project roadmap that wins the confidence of the team.Manage the project’s team of designers.Translate the roadmap into design goals and work plans that the design team can take ownership in line with their skill and experience.Review software in development and provide actionable feedback that is appropriate to the team and stage of the development cycle.Share insights to those doing hands-on work in the game engine that elevates their engagement with the project and competence as a developer.Identify project risks and initiate effective actions ahead of time.Be able to pick-up hands-on work to demonstrate best practice and set benchmark quality in implementing the design.Your profileTen plus years of professional game development experience in a design role, and at least three in a leadership role.At least one full development cycle on a free to play title, with a track record of delivering core loops that drive player engagement and retention.Generalist design abilities, from mechanics to systems and content, and specialized in at least one area of design.A strong drive to create innovative products that push the boundaries and the quality bar.We offerA company culture that values a healthy work-life balance.A hybrid working model with two office days per week.Income tax reduction for eligible expats.Relocation cost compensation depending on your situation.26 standard vacation days with an option to buy 5 more.Free train commuting to and from the office.Free pension plan.A healthy lunch in our canteen.Group activities and an annual VR game jam.Thursday afternoon drinks.The latest VR hardware and titles which you can borrow and take home.Whilst working from home we provide all the relevant hardware, budget for a desk and chair and a contribution toward your energy costs.
