Located in Southern California, GungHo Online Entertainment America Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese game company GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc. Publishing titles across multiple platforms ranging from console to handheld and mobile, our group is comprised of veterans from various aspects of the industry brought together by one simple thing: a love of gaming.

During this Covid-19 pandemic, we are following CA State and LA county orders and temporary working from home. Candidates may apply and work remotely at this time, but will be expected to move to Los Angeles at such a time when it is deemed safe and permissible by CA State and LA county.

Position Summary:

The Video Content Coordinator works with the Marketing Manager to help develop video/streaming content strategies and produce video content for the web and social media for GungHo Online Entertainment America. This position collaborates with internal teams and to achieve brand consistency, raise brand awareness, and present GungHo brands and IPs in the highest standards of video production possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Plan, produce, and edit recorded video content such as tutorials, trailers, interviews, or “Let’s Play”-style content alongside Development and Production teams.
  • Produce livestreams with the Marketing and Production teams, showcasing the games and communities in the best possible light.
  • Capture game footage for use across multiple verticals, ensuring clips are optimized and tailored for specific platforms (YouTube, Twitter, etc.).
  • Work with internal teams to further develop the visual voice of the GungHo portfolio across multiple verticals.
  • Manage daily workflows between internal teams to execute creative concepts into deliverables.
  • Ensure projects stay on track by coordinating goals, deliverables, schedules, estimates, and budgets.
  • Research trends across video platforms and stay up to date with changes/new avenues ensuring maximum effectiveness.
  • Maintain a content database of GungHo video production, including captured and edited work, that can be easily accessed by all departments.
  • Maintain and manage video equipment, including lighting, audio, camera, computers, and capture devices.
  • Work with internal and external teams to produce original coverage of GungHo Online Entertainment at trade shows, whether live or digital.
  • Work alongside Influencer Coordinator to ensure partners can produce the best possible content with tools we provide.
  • Work alongside Community Managers to provide up-to-date assets live from the show, including and not limited to editing daily recaps, editing live gameplay, and producing snapshot content for social media.
  • Meet quick turnarounds to post high-quality videos on same day that events occur.
  • Maintain and manage set up of video equipment, including lighting, audio, camera, computers, and capture devices.
  • Become a brand expert on GungHo and GungHo’s published products – understand how to best tell their stories both as separately and as intertwined.
  • Provide feedback on GungHo Japan-related proposals for the North American market for any product.
  • Evaluate and advocate new programs and campaigns that elevate and reinforce GungHo’s positioning.
  • Partner with product management and community teams to manage marketing strategies and campaigns, co-promotions, research studies, and marketing assets.
  • Test prototypes of future game titles to provide constructive feedback for improvement in future builds.
  • Perform special projects and other miscellaneous duties that are assigned by upper management.
  • Travel on business or works beyond normal work hours when necessary.

Qualifications / desired experience:

  • Must have video editing experience, with at least six months to one year in a professional editing environment.
  • Reel will be required.
  • At least six months to a year of relevant industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Well-versed writer and communicator.
  • Ability to keep current on top grossing games and what makes them successful.
  • Ability to keep current on social, streaming, and content trends and what makes them successful.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passion for games!
