Video Capture Specialist

Crystal Dynamics is seeking a Video Capture Specialist for its Redwood City, CA studio, to showcase our upcoming games to the world. This candidate will have an eye for shot composition and experience in content creation, video editing software, and game cameras, all to gather the best looks of our game to showcase to the gaming community! This is a permanent, full-time position complete with an excellent benefits package and access to our world-class gym facility.

Summary:

The Video Capture Specialist will work within the Brand’s Creative Services team to record, edit, and polish gameplay footage of our upcoming title. This person will be responsible for delivering top-quality video assets, including in-game gameplay and cinematic video capture, screens, and more. They will become an expert in knowing how and where to get the best shots for in-game footage, and framing them for review for potential use in upcoming assets that will be viewed by millions of fans the world over.

Responsibilities:

• Capture in-game video and screenshots with minimal direction and oversight
• Convert videos to necessary format (uncompressed, compressed, Bink, etc)
• Collaborate with video editors to piece together fantastic scenes and highlights.
• Light editing to arrange and compose shots into an easily viewable format.
• Store, track, and maintain video files within a content management library.

• Knowledge of current generation game consoles.
• Knowledge of current video game market.
• Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work within tight delivery deadlines.
• Ability to work in a fluid environment with constantly changing priorities.
• Ability to organize, track, and archive footage.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in a professional environment, ideally in games.
• Experience with video editing tools and software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar
• Previous experience working within a game engine and a familiarity with virtual cameras
• Passion for visual storytelling.

Plusses:

• Previous games industry experience in a content-focused environment such as QA, Brand, etc.
• Previous experience using game capture software
• A strong passion for gaming.
