The Vice President of Corporate Communications will lead EA's corporate communications team to serve as a strategic enabler of the business, helping to drive overall brand valuation and positive reputation. To break through in today's ultra-cluttered content and media environment, there is a clear advantage to company storytelling being narrative-driven versus transactional and episodic. The VP of Corporate Communications will develop compelling and inspiring narratives that articulates our vision of leading the future of entertainment, instilling confidence and belief in EA's long-term strategy, our people and culture. You will lead EA storytelling to a wide range of audiences, including our players, employees, investors, media and, governance and regulatory bodies, focused on enhancing and protecting our brand and reputation . You will be a hybrid/onsite role in Redwood City, CA.
Reporting to the SVP, Brand, Communications and Impact, this communications leader will provide strategic counsel to C-Suite and lead a talented corporate communications team. We are looking for an executive who is a strategist, as well as a hands-on leader, with experience in aligning an organization's goals, values, motivations, and commitment to achieve shared success. You will have at least ten (10+) years of experience and be a dynamic, influential, leader who builds partnership and relationships across the enterprise. You will be asked to develop teams. And you will have familiarity with the technology, media, gaming or entertainment sectors.
In this role you will:
- Lead a Corporate Communications team that can create high impact programs globally to deliver measurable business outcomes, brand value and positive reputation
- Create company narratives that showcase our purpose, values and growth levers, taking into consideration industry trends, product beats and cultural moments
- Lead the strategic development of an enterprise corporate communications strategy with "always on" media and storytelling engines
- Build programs supporting corporate business media programs, financial communications, executive communications and thought leadership, ESG and DE&I communications
- Provide communications counsel and activate diverse voices to amplify company stories to build brand value; create custom narratives through a combination of earned and owned media, speaking and social channels.
- Partner with Corporate business partners to tell EA's company story, rooted in our purpose and values
- Partner with Franchise and Studio Communications leaders to ensure aligned goals, communications strategies and narratives that mutually support EA corporate programs, as well as games/studio/franchise business goals
- Manage internal and agency teams to ensure understanding of priorities, ensuring consistency of narratives and media strategies globally
- Lead teams and communications strategies in support of business growth, while managing ongoing issues and reputation risks (regulatory, legal, etc.)
- Provide leadership and mentoring to team members, partnering with peers to build healthy teams.
Requirements
- Experience developing and leading global teams of Corporate Communications professionals within the entertainment, online/tech, and/or games industry.
- Experience leading rapid response, issues and crises to mitigate against business and reputation risks
- Demonstrated capability of working with and influencing executive teams
- Business financial literacy and experience leading financial communications with investor relations and finance on financial communications strategy and messaging
- Experience developing brand & reputation/PR campaigns to influence, advance and shape public opinions
- Experience monitoring industry conversations public relations and political trends, threats, and opportunities and to develop powerful strategies to address them
