We are looking for a passionate, experienced Marketing Vertical Leader to join our multinational game development agency.
Department Description
The Marketing Services Vertical is a new business live for Amber, which is expected to grow and generate significant revenue for Amber in the coming years. The Marketing Services Vertical will serve top clients in the video games industry, as well as Amber’s internal needs for marketing services. The Vertical will eventually include services such as marketing assets creation, trailers, playable ads, community management, product marketing strategy, and more. The Vertical Leader will fully own the development and P&L of this new business line, and must demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach towards building the vertical. The Marketing Vertical Leader will report to a C-level executive within the company.
Primary Duties and Responsabilities:
- Employ an entrepreneurial mindset to build the Vertical as a commercially successful business.
- Fully own the P&L of the Marketing Services Vertical.
- Craft a clear definition of customer needs, market trends, and competitive developments. Work closely with the Business Development team to drive lead generation and closure for marketing services projects.
- Demonstrate a strong client-focus mindset and grow teams that excel in service quality and delivery.
- Hire, coach & empower top talents to structure highly creative & innovative marketing teams.
- Use data and insight to prioritize target audience/ segment priorities, along with key features that will create differentiation.
- Understand and assess core product opportunities (e.g., opportunity size, appeal, differentiation) in order to proactively determine how to best sell and drive demand.
- Deliver results and hit deadlines. Take responsibility and ownership of role-related tasks.
- Be an important partner in product strategy; advise on market potential, pricing, and distribution channels, where applicable. Build and grow a team of product marketing strategists.
- Work collaboratively with other department / vertical heads to hit goals. Builds working relationships with others cross-functionally. Act in the best interest of the company.
- Build relationships and agreement with executive leaders of partner organizations across Amber, ensuring agreement on product priorities.
- Demonstrate understanding of cultural practices and global perspectives, given Amber’s wide geographical presence and multi-cultural teams.
- Regularly report to top management on the progress of the Vertical.
- Generate new solutions that contribute to brand and vertical evolution. Ask questions and challenge the status quo. Contributes to a culture of creativity and idea generation.
Background Required:
- 10+ years of experience in operational marketing, preferably in the marketing services space.
- Strong analytical skills, strong project management skills and well-honed communication skills.
- Experience managing entertainment products and brands in global markets with experience entering and growing new markets/segments.
- Ability to manage expectations appropriately while coordinating, planning, and meeting deadlines for deliverables in a fast-paced environment where projects span across teams.
- Good sense of perspective – able to switch between “details” and “big picture” as needed.
- Have familiarity with the gaming industry, and a variety of gaming genres and platforms. Experience working in the industry is preferred but not essential.
- Experience building brands that reach consumer across multiple categories.
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in marketing, advertising, communications, or business. (MBA level studies is a plus).
