Treyarch’s Vehicle Art team is on the hunt for a versatile, dedicated, and passionate Vehicle and Hard Surface Artist to join our team. A successful candidate is an Artist that absolutely LOVES vehicles and has the talent and skill to match that love, while being a total team player. This is a critical role which focuses on one of the most important aspects of First Person Shooter games.

What you'll do...

  • Creation of vehicles at the highest quality and efficiency for in game while working from scan data, concept art and reference photos.
  • Basic rigid skinning using internal tools to set up a vehicle in game.
  • Maintain and update assets to a high efficiency standard that fit within a budget.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Artist, Art Directors, Concept Artists, Animators, and Designers on ensuring the best player experience.
  • Receive feedback and modify work based on direction.
  • Provide feedback to improve the tools for both the art and technical side of vehicle development.
  • Follow schedules and meet deadlines.

To succeed you should have…

  • An incredible passion for 3D art, vehicles and First-Person Shooters.
  • Experience creating photorealistic vehicles for games
  • Proactive and work well in team environment and have excellent communication skills
  • Prior experience on one or more published AAA titles as a vehicle or hard surface artist
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical function and purpose.
  • Ability to learn new tools quickly and effectively
  • Experience using Painter, Photoshop, Marmoset, Maya, 3DSM, Blender or 3D art package of your choice (Maya is where we primarily export and do basic rigging passes on vehicles)

We’d love it if you also have…

  • Expert knowledge in Maya and Substance Painter.
  • Outstanding knowledge of weapons and equipment.
  • Outstanding knowledge of general military application and authenticity.
  • Experience working with game engines.
  • Experience using photogrammetry or scan data

Candidates will also need to be prepared for an Art Test.
