Position Summary:

As the VP, People & Culture, you will play a key member of our Management Team, developing and executing Team Liquid’s people strategy. This role encompasses managing critical HR functions such as talent management, organizational performance, employee engagement, training, benefits, succession planning, internal communications, and culture initiatives. You will also drive our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, ensuring that our organizational culture is equitable and welcoming.
In this role, you will be accountable for implementing our people strategy across our global headquarters in North America, South America, Europe, and our teams in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and the Philippines. You will work closely with all levels of the organization to foster innovation and create a positive impact, aligning with our culture and values.
Location: Los Angeles, CA. Candidates are required to be located in Los Angeles or have the ability to commute to the office two times a week.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Strategy & Advising:
- Be part of the Executive team’s management group and become a key advisor.
- Provide advice to the senior management team and peers with respect to talent and people strategies based on business needs.
- Partner with the senior management team on organizational development, performance management, and employee engagement and retention.
- Work with the senior management team and encourage teamwork at all levels of the business.
- People Strategy:
- Translate business strategy into actionable people strategies.
- Stay current on best practices and implement performance improvement efforts.
- Use feedback mechanisms to identify and address performance gaps.
- Implement best practices across systems, processes, and policies to enhance the people experience.
- Manage change efforts to ensure aligned internal communications.
- Talent Development:
- Coordinate the talent development planning process to resolve strategic and operational talent issues.
- Oversee the execution of the people strategy, translating it into operational goals and initiatives.
- Develop comprehensive employee onboarding, development, and retention programs, including compensation, benefits, career growth paths, and training opportunities.
- Coach management on effective people strategies and implementation.
- Culture Building:
- Foster a culture aligned with Team Liquid’s mission and values.
- Enhance employee engagement and recognition.
- Ensure the right talent is in place to meet business needs.
- Develop programs to improve the work environment and drive cultural progress.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI):
- Drive DEI initiatives to attract and develop diverse talent.
- Foster a culture where differences are celebrated.
- Work with stakeholders to achieve DEI goals.
- HR Operations & Compliance:
- Manage a team of 4 P&C Managers and 2 Assistants across various regions.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee HR operations, including payroll, benefits, workforce relations, performance evaluations, and addressing disputes and grievances.
What You'll Need:
- 10+ years of progressive Global HR management experience in a high-growth environment, with accountability for regions such as EMEA, Brazil, and Southeast Asia.
- Familiarity with California and Federal employment law and policies.
- Passionate and resilient person with strong advocacy skills.
- Transparent, self-motivated, and straightforward.
- Experience working with global teams across various business lines.
- Proven ability to manage small, high-performing teams.
- Capable of navigating ambiguity and effectively addressing issues without pre-established processes.
- Strong managerial and coaching skills.
- Excellent relationship-building skills at all levels within and outside the organization.
- Proficiency in HR systems, including payroll, benefits, ATS, and HRIS. Experience partnering and managing PEO relationships is a plus.
- Strong work ethic with a bias for action.
- Solid communication and presentation skills.
- Listener adept at building consensus and moving issues forward constructively.

Benefits:
The salary range for CA is: $180,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year.
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
