The Role

Savage Games are looking for an Unreal Engine Programmer to join their team in Helsinki or Berlin. You should be a keen problem solver, technically-minded, and possess a passion for creating tools and systems that feel great to use and fun to play.

You should have a strong understanding of Unreal Engine and C++. You’ll be working closely within a team of incredibly talented Engineers and will have a wealth of opportunities to make a noticeable impact on how we develop new experiences for our players, approach exciting new problems (both technical and creative), and create top-tier action games that players will love.

Responsibilities

  • Tools/Engine feature design and implementation
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their goals and suggest viable solutions
  • Foster Unreal best practices and level up team members new to Unreal
  • Runtime performance analysis and optimization
  • Build systems that scale across a wide range of mobile hardware

Requirements

  • 3 years experience or one shipped title using Unreal Engine
  • Strong in C++
  • Experience with the Unreal rendering pipeline
  • Strong understanding of best coding practices and algorithms
  • Able to judge feature quality as compared to competitor’s games
  • Effective communicator, written and verbal

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Shipped a mobile game using Unreal Engine
  • A keen interest in keeping up to date with the latest Unreal has to offer
  • Created a custom game engine whether as a hobby or commercial project
