Summary:
We are seeking experienced Unity Software Engineers to join our product team. You will help us build efficient, maintainable and scalable Unity-based applications across various platforms and environments using existing standards and conventions. You will also contribute to the product architecture and long-term live support.
Responsibilities:
- Help craft our next generation of adaptive educational games on an all-new codebase
- Identify, design, and develop features and functionality within existing and new applications for deployment to Android, iOS, Windows, and Mac
- Develop new features with an emphasis on data-driven architectures and scalability
- Provide concise and straight-forward architectural solutions to complex problems
- Ensure code quality by writing SOLID, testable code
- Participate in new technology and technical solution evaluation and provide recommendations
- Coordinate with your team to define development timeframes, dependencies, and areas of risk to be considered in project planning
- Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure layouts, animations, audios, and graphical assets are efficiently integrated into application features while preserving artistic integrity and performance
- Partner with teammates to deliver final production code
- Where appropriate, mentor other developers
Required Qualifications:
- You have 5 or more years’ experience developing in Unity
- You have proven experience building software with Unity (games or apps), ideally, that are consumer-facing and content-driven; educational game development experience preferred
- You have a strong understanding of common design patterns and SOLID principles
- You have a solid understanding of the full software development life cycle
- You find creative solutions to difficult problems in an efficient manner
- You are experienced with performance tuning and optimization techniques
- You write documented, unit-testable, C# code that is compliant with broadly accepted industry standards and conventions
- You have excellent attention to detail and are rigorous in self-testing code and delivering high-quality work
- You are an analytical thinker capable of translating business requirements and wireframes into application architecture
- You are highly motivated and a self-starter
Preferred Qualifications:
- You earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or related subject
- You have worked in a recent version of Unity (e.g., Unity 2018 or later)
- You have experience working in an Agile development framework
