UX Research Leader, User Group

As the Research Leader in our Apps group, you will help shape the strategy for our research and insights efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional leaders and teams in design and product leadership, to ensure that our user experience is cohesively aligned with our overall strategy. In this role, you will be responsible for leading key research and insights initiatives and collaborating with design and product leadership to inspire innovation and creativity, take appropriate risks, balancing short, medium, and long-term needs. This role is a hybrid role located in San Mateo, CA. #LI-Hybrid

You Will:

• Will report to the Head of Design
• Manage a small team of user research ICs across multiple broad initiatives.
• Be part of the UX executive leads group of decision-makers and guide User group research team's direction and growth.
• Lead and conduct strategic and high value research, initiating, specifying, designing, or building shared operational resources to support the team.
• Influence and lead the roadmap strategy for Roblox app and platform rollouts.
• Be responsible for the quality of the team, including coaching, growing ICs, and addressing under-performance.
• Identify relevant metrics and track trends to report progress relative to goals, such as team health, research impact, and product goals.

You Have:

• 10+ years of professional work experience in a research leadership and/or management capacity.
• Experience managing across different research methodologies
• Experience as a user researcher practicing in consumer applications such as: games, entertainment, social media or other related industries
• Built research teams over time through hiring, growing, and retaining inspired researchers.

• A cross-functional expert who will use your leadership methodologies and user research skills to bring a user-centered point of view to growth and consumer-focused initiatives.
