USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER
Our studio is looking for a User Experience Designer to help us craft exceptional UX for our products. You’ll work with our UX Director to help establish and maintain UX production pipelines on all of our game teams and support those teams with design deliverables as needed, including wireframes, pre-visualization prototypes, and documentation.
Who You Are
- You’re able to communicate the user experience of a feature or product visually through UX deliverables such as wireframes, storyboards, flow diagrams, and prototypes
- You understand modern mobile UX design conventions and can clearly articulate the design rationale behind your work
- You’re familiar with the UX design needs of various gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile) and are able to design products and features with cross-platform accessibility in mind
- You enjoy the challenge of simplifying complex systems and interactions
- You love designing experiences that are learnable, efficient, memorable and satisfying to use
What a Typical Day Might Look Like
- Design UX deliverables for studio projects such as wireframes, storyboards, flows and usability prototypes for games and features while coordinating with/integrating the needs of game producers, developers, project managers, artists and engineers
- Work with our User Experience Director, sharing your UX deliverables and incorporating any feedback
- Collaborate directly with a UI artist to create beautiful, readable visuals that compliment your UX deliverables
- Collaborate directly with client engineers to ensure the best possible execution of your designed experiences
- Help define best UX practices for the studio with the User Experience Director
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience designing UX deliverables for digital products
- Familiarity with most standard design software (Adobe XD, Sketch and/or Figma) Understanding of broader UX trends in tech that are likely to impact games
Plusses
- Experience designing features for various gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile) or familiarity with design conventions in the mobile gaming space
- Familiarity with UX prototyping software (Invision, Flinto, and/or Axure)
- Knowledge of how metagame systems can support a game’s core loop
- Comfortable with game engines; can implement greybox UX
- Ability to illustrate; can create appealing and dynamic visual target mock-ups
- Have organized and conducted usability testing on products
- BA/BS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Psychology or related field
- Bilingual in Spanish, Portuguese or any other language
