The Challenge
We are searching for a UK Compliance Intern to join our team in London on a 54-week placement, commencing in July 2023!
Reporting to the Snr Compliance and Financial Accountant, a member of the compliance area of the UK Finance department expected to contribute to the overall success of the compliance and treasury Function.
Assist in tasks for compliance and treasury team accounting for UK and Irish entities that the department deals with, including tax and treasury compliance; helping to meet deadlines and requirements associated with those. Ensuring that the all compliance is completed accurately and within the relevant legal requirements
What You’ll Take On
General
- Assist the compliance and treasury department in completing the day to day compliance and treasury tasks for the UK entities, helping ensure that deadlines are met and that all named companies comply with all relevant legal and statutory requirements
Compliance and Tax (UK Publishing entities and Irish marketing companies)
- Assist in the VAT compliance for the above entities, including the UK VAT group as well as the Irish companies; helping ensure that all tasks are completed within the set deadlines.
- Assist with the Czech VAT compliance for TTI UK, helping ensure that all tasks are completed within the set deadlines.
- Assist with the German VAT compliance for TTI UK, helping ensure that all tasks are completed within the set deadlines.
- Assist in any ad hoc projects / tasks that may arise due to the VAT structure and compliance of the UK publishing entities and Irish marketing entities.
- Assist in the completion of the PAYE Settlement Agreement returns for the UK entities, helping to analyze the different cost categories and formulate the taxable elements.
- Assist in the internal corporate tax compliance, including quarterly and annual US tax packs;
- Assist in the compilation of the annual corporation tax return returns, including completing the annual CTX information packs;
- Any other Ad hoc external reporting requirements as necessary;
Treasury
- Assist in compiling the hedging calculations on a Bi- monthly basis – ensuring all base data is collated from all sources and analyzed to ensure that the hedges placed are accurate;
- Ensure all Ico interest between International companies is posted on a monthly basis;
- Assist in compiling and reviewing for UK and Irish companies on a Bi - weekly basis to US treasury team;
- Complete the bank reconciliations for all companies on a monthly basis;
Month End / Internal reporting
- Assist in the posting of payroll for the UK and Irish on a monthly basis, liaising with HR to ensure timeliness and any queries;
- Ensure that control accounts for payroll and payroll taxes are fully reconciled and accurate on a monthly basis;
- Ensure that all VAT and Income tax control accounts are fully reconciled, revalued and accurate on a monthly basis;
Ad Hoc and projects:
- Any Ad Hoc projects and tasks that occur;

- Conceptual knowledge of ERP systems and their function
- Good knowledge of excel and other Microsoft office products
