UI / UX Engineer

At Mainframe, we are building Pax Dei: a social sandbox MMO, a living world where myths are real, ghosts exist, and magic is unquestioned. A world that players worldwide will call their home and where they will craft their stories for years to come.

Your mission and responsibilities:

You will develop scalable cross-platform UI and state of the art accessibility solutions, working closely with the UI and UX design team to develop visual and functional requirements for the game.

• You will help create consistent UX and UI across all platforms: pc, console and mobile using the Unreal UMG UI framework.
• You will help create experiences that are accessible to everyone including players with disabilities, such as visual impairments. Develop assistive game modes and integrate accessibility features.

Some success indicators for your role:

• You have at least 3 years of experience with UI development
• You have experience in developing cross-platform UI (PC, Console, Mobile)
• Experience in using Unreal Engine and Unreal UI Framework is a big plus
• You have interest in and have worked with accessibility features

You will join in on exciting times as our MMO starts to breathe life! During Pax Dei Early Access - planned for Spring 2024 - we are also learning from our players and developing new features. Working on a live game implies that you won't have to keep everything you are working on secret and, most importantly, that you’ll have data and feedback about the features you work on shortly after their implementation.

Location and work:

You will join our team and your role is preferably based in Finland, Iceland, or France, where our offices are. As we believe in good work-life balance and working where you are most productive, be it at the office or at home, we are open to discussing remote work even though we prefer to stay in the time zones between Helsinki and Reykjavik.

As our teams are spread over several locations, we have weekly online team meetings for everyone to share their progress and learnings. We also encourage teams to meet up physically regularly to strengthen team spirit.
