Tools Engineer - EverQuest II

Darkpaw Games and the EverQuest II team is looking for an Engine and Tools Engineer to join a team of highly motivated and talented engineers, artists, and designers working towards long term improvements of the EverQuest II tool set.

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

• Be an advocate for improved tools, workflow, and pipelines that increase developer efficiency and capabilities
• Interface with developers across disciplines to seek feedback on engine customizations, tools, workflow, and pipelines
• Work with developers to define requirements list for engine and tools development
• Collaborate with other engineers to design and implement improvements
• Educate developers on the use of design tools and pipelines through personal demos and documentation
• Perform competitive analysis of third-party systems and toolsets
• Efficiently self-manage to balance working independently and with other developers
• Create and document complex systems in a clear manner for others to rely on as a reference and potentially expand upon
• Regularly play test and provide feedback on the game

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Passion for games and game development
• A working proficiency in C++ and C#
• Enthusiastic and performance-driven attitude who is a self-starter and team player
• Ability to communicate (both in written and verbal methods) complex processes in a clear manner
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Understanding of object oriented software engineering principles and methodologies
• Talent with regularly shifting gears to accommodate emergency issues
• Two or more years of professional programming experience in a team environment
• Some knowledge in 3D graphics programming
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• Pluses
• Experience building GUI based tools
• Experience playing / developing MMOs
