Job Description
As a technical lead, you’ll be joining the Live Games team, which is responsible to support all of the Live Games that are being developed or are in production within Ubisoft. Your role will be to support all the IT game teams who are embedded into the Production teams by helping them on technology issues, as well as defining and encouraging best practices for the technologies we use. You will be a mentor by helping with technological issues, and or by coordinating continuous development initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Help establish the technical direction of our internal services, along with Product Owners;
- Analyse how technologies are used by game teams worldwide, and propose wide reaching improvements on them, whether they are related to automation, tooling, or governance;
- Establish a trust relationship and communication channels with game teams in your perimeter;
- Facilitate encounters with Subject Matter Experts that can help game teams issues with a certain technology;
- Provide your experts input in game teams that have a decision to make regarding
- Create documentation which immediately helps onboard anyone who wants or needs to use a technology in your perimeter;
- Shadow or mentor members of game teams in order to help them resolve the most complex technical issues;
- Communicate new services, improvements or any other useful information down to the game team.
Qualifications
Training:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering or equivalent.
Relevant Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in system administration in a specific field
Technical Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of Linux OS (CentOS, RHEL, etc.);
- Excellent knowledge of Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, etc.);
- Excellent knowledge of container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.);
- Good knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash, etc.);
- Good knowledge of Configuration Management software (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Salt, etc.);
- Good knowledge of Databases (MySQL, Redis, Mongo, etc.);
- Good knowledge of Basic Networking (VLAN, Firewall, etc.).
Skills & Knowledge:
- Possess knowledge of the Agile methodologies;
- Possess knowledge of DevOps and Lean mindset;
- Have experience or willingness with self-learning new technologies;
- Can autonomously analyse how a technology is used and propose improvements.
