Technical Writer

Playground Games is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Forza Horizon team on a contract basis.

About the role:

As Technical Writer, you will work across every discipline to ensure that all facets of development are reinforced by high-quality documentation. This includes end-user guides and technical references for our proprietary engine as well as resources to support our Design and Art teams.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced Technical Writer who is passionate about their craft and has the track record to prove it.

What you’ll do:

• Take ownership of the documentation for the Forza Horizon project and support the team in producing clear, concise, and consistent content.
• Be responsible for the overall information architecture of the project’s documentation.
• Collaborate with other Technical Writers within Playground Games to ensure that documentation across our projects meets agreed stylistic and quality standards.
• Educate the wider team on documentation best practices and key writing skills.

What you’ll bring:

• At least 2 years of technical writing experience, ideally in a software role.
• Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, with a particular emphasis on delivering constructive editorial feedback and conducting interviews with SMEs.
• The ability to balance and prioritise multiple deliverables and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
• Experience with web-based content management systems like Confluence.
• A genuine passion for video games.
• Experience in the video game industry is a plus, but is not required.
