Blizzard Entertainment’s Story and Franchise Development department seeks a Technical Writer to contribute to our ever-growing documentation on processes and technologies. The tech writer will partner with our technology and production teams to author, organize, and advise on the creation of documentation on our Confluence wiki. They will also work closely with our Engineering department to advise on user activations and deactivations, permissions, plug-ins, and license availability.
Responsibilities:
● Be a champion for our wiki space, encouraging consistency, organization, maintenance, search engine optimization, and the authoring of content.
● Guide the future of our documentation through collaboration in our wiki steering committee meetings.
● For our larger tech initiatives, act as a resource for authoring clear user documentation and detailed developer documentation.
● Refine documentation provided by others from Technology and from production departments to ensure maximal effectiveness.
● Function as an authority on wiki technology including templates, plugin usage, shortcuts, themes, and capabilities of Confluence.
Required Qualifications:
● Familiarity with Atlassian Confluence.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex concepts in an effective manner.
● Ability to take initiative, work independently and be open to feedback.
Pluses:
● Familiarity with animated film production.
● Understanding of SEO.
● Computer Science degree or equivalent.
● Familiarity with 508 Compliance / accessibility.
● UI/UX experience.
● HTML / XML / DITA familiarity.
● Familiarity with Python.
● Familiarity with Git

This role is anticipated to be assigned as a hybrid work model position, with some work on-site at an Activision Blizzard office and some work remote.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $62,000.00 - $114,700.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
