Role overview:
Responsible for supporting our hardware localisation production/assembly operations in Europe and Middle East. To ensure their QMS systems can assure final product quality and regional compliance.
This position is office based within the Operations Technical Services Department. It is suitable for a person with a quality control background or assembly process experience who understands Quality Assurance techniques and QMS processes. They must possess strong communication, time management, organisation skills and be able to effectively interact with other departments/suppliers. The successful candidate will be required to produce written quality requirements and instructions for 3rd party companies based on existing templates. They will have previous experience in a QA role and demonstrate knowledge of quality control and data analysis tools.
What you'll be doing:
- Support implementation and maintenance of quality management system at our 3rd party production localisation operations
- Advise Logistic/Manufacture partners on product compliance to assure regional conformity
- Update Japan HQ QA/Compliance Team on our operations and report serious quality issues
- Writing quality control requirement documents to direct and instruct our 3 rd party operations
- Approve 3 rd party documentation and procedures to ensure adherence to our requirements
- Work with our Product Safety and Compliance group to assure product conformity
- Support new model introduction and ensure new processes and procedures are approved
- Prepare change management requests to manage running changes and update processes
- Document management and version control
- Assist with audits on new model introduction or new production processes
- Assist with basic training on quality techniques to our operations when required
- Manage non-conformance escalations and assign to appropriate groups
- Support process improvement initiatives with gap analysis and continuous improvement
- Coordinate local hardware product and packaging testing
- Additional duties to include service operation support to analyse product returns to monitor trends, parts consumption and determine actions on highest fault categories
What we're looking for:
- Have a quality mind-set and enjoy solving problems
- Good understanding of QMS and interpreting standards
- Possess a good understanding of quality tools
- Have a good insight and understanding on processes and production flows
- Have sound judgment and decision making
- Be confident, driven and proactive with the ability to prioritise work & deliver to deadlines
- Be motivated to work under own initiative and as part of a team
- Be able to work in a fast and efficient manner
- Be able to produce high quality work with great attention to detail
- Have an open mind, being flexible and keen to learn new methods outside area of expertise
- Be a proficient computer user with solid MS Office experience and ability to adopt other apps
- Basic project management skills are desirable such as planning and monitoring progress
- Have an appreciation of data analysis and able to determine trends
- Free to work in the UK without visa restrictions and willing to travel abroad
- Have excellent command of English languages, both written and spoken
- A foreign language is desirable but not a criteria
