Sr. Technical Project Manager
The Sr. Technical Project Manager (Sr. TPM) contributes to The Pokémon Company International’s success by actively generating process improvements, providing structure, and establishing procedures and tools in order to increase efficiency and transparency for the Technical Program Management Office (TPMO). The Sr. TPM manages individual technology projects, varying in size and scope, with key stakeholders such as DevOps, Digital Marketing, Localization, Legal, and other internal and external partners.
What You Will Do
- Champion and drive Hybrid Project Management which blends traditional project management practices and Agile.
- Champions and drives change initiatives including collaboration with management and executive stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholders through the discovery process and then develops the project plan including objective(s), requirements, resourcing, and dependencies.
- Coordinate and balance requirements, resources, risk reporting, dependencies, dates, deployment plans and more across multiple internal and external teams, working with both Agile and traditional project management methodologies.
- Facilitate project meetings, technical deep dives, cross-functional workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions and project reviews.
- Lead sprint planning, retrospectives and daily scrum stand-ups for project development teams.
- Analyze data to understand issues and take corrective actions when needed, knowing when and how to escalate.
- Coach others on Agile methodologies and project management best practices.
- Contribute to TPMO processes, standardization, and best practices.
What You Will Bring
- 7+ years of solid working experience in formal project/program management roles with a foundation in project management practices.
- 7+ years' working directly with development teams with a knowledge of SDLC, web technologies, implementation, database migrations and roll outs.
- Experience with project management for large scale, multi-year, multi-million-dollar technology initiatives spanning cross-functional teams across the enterprise with complex deployments.
- Solid technical background, with understanding of software development life cycle, web technologies, implementation and roll outs.
- Strong understanding of various Agile delivery methods (Kanban, Scrum, Lean). Experience serving as a Scrum Master for dev teams, Certified Scrum Master a plus.
- Experience creating dashboards, road maps and other reporting for the executive level.
- Familiarity with navigating in JIRA, Confluence and Smartsheet preferred.
