What We Need:
The NBA 2K production team is seeking a Technical Producer/Game Scripter who also has design capabilities. This role is part of the Presentation team and focuses on delivering groundbreaking features as well as core systems and in house tools and workflows for the development of a AAA title. This role will report to the Senior Producer.
What You Will Do:
- Create scripts that drive game behavior across a multitude of modes and features including cinematic sequences
- Work with engineers and others to design, maintain and implement various features and cinematics, core systems, (such as the camera system) and key development tools, such as the proprietary scripting tool
- Communicate designs clearly by way of documentation, visual guides, and group discussions
- Test and iterate on features, systems and tools to ensure they are working as expected
- Informally mentor and help others who may not be as technical
Who Will Be A Good Fit:
- 3+ years of experience in scripting for the games industry
- Deep experience with scripting tools and architecture such as Unreal Blueprints, Unity Scripting API, PlayMaker, etc.
- Not a professional engineer but have some exposure to coding
- Someone who is comfortable and confident talking with engineers about implementation details and is creative enough to imagine solutions to implementation challenges
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple locations effectively
- Ability to own and manage complex areas of the game that interact with multiple different systems and see them through to completion
- Experience with film/TV production, especially editing and cinematography a plus
- Love for video games (not just ours!)
