Position Summary: Technical Director (Online Services)

- Working with an international team on AAA games in a multi-engine studio (Frostbite, Unreal, CryEngine).
- Developing engine systems as well as improving workflows for our development teams on platforms including PC and consoles.
- Guiding online development across multiple genres (FPS, MMO, Sports, etc.), platforms (Steam, EGS, Playstation, Xbox) and cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Being part of a groundbreaking global game developer and publisher, with a permanently remote team.
- Facilitating communication between clients, internal teams/management, and individual contributors.

Responsibilities
- Leading a team of dedicated engineers, creating and supporting online/backend game services
- Expertise in multiple game engines, backend game architectures (P2P, dedicated servers, authentication, entitlements, etc.), and how they relate to system design
- Understanding the differences and similarities between supported game platforms (Steam, EGS, Playstation, Xbox, etc.)
- Driving ongoing performance evaluation and optimization on supported game platforms for both customer projects as well as TLM’s internal tech.
- Working closely with other team leads as well as customers on technical goals, features and development.
- As a leader, ensuring that code quality, reusability and documentation are always prioritized.
- Owning the customer facing relationship for your engineering team.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of game development experience, including recent generation consoles
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3+ shipped AAA titles, with at least 2 as a lead/senior/TD
- Strong understanding of C/C++, performance analysis, optimization and debugging
- Background with parallel programming and multi-threaded engine systems.
- Comprehensive understanding of PC and console architecture, memory systems and best practices for cross-platform game development.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams
- Experience with technical design documentation
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with current and next generation console SDKs and PC store fronts (eg. Steam, Epic, etc).
- Expertise in game networking and architecture
- Shipped and maintained an online multiplayer game.
