If this describes you, the WoW Classic team would like to meet you.

We are looking to add a Technical Designer to our ranks to help us recreate original encounters as they progressively release in Burning Crusade Classic, as well as plan and work on future projects. On the Classic team, our goal is to minimize changes to the core gameplay, while still fixing disruptive bugs and exploits, so we have a particular need for somebody with surgical precision who can focus on only fixing what’s necessary and preserving the spirit of original World of Warcraft. A technical designer straddles the line between design and engineering and works closely with engineers to debug problems with content, as well as providing design guidance to the engineers working alongside them.

Responsibilities

• Maintain collaborative connections with design, engineering, QA, production, and art
• Diagnose and debug content issues in both the development and live environment
• Work with engineering to request and refine workflow and tool changes
• Re-create earlier version of dungeon and raid content and help design systems

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical design or related field
• Deep understanding of World of Warcraft design and gameplay
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Absolute passion for playing and making games

Plusses

• Scripting or other programming experience
• Experience with content creation tools and game editors
• Degree in computer science or related field
