The Tools and Technology Team within STG is looking for accomplished people to help us fulfill our mission of providing creative tools and workflows that allow EA to lead the industry in content quality. Our group strives to build an ecosystem of modular components that are efficient, adjustable to trends, and allow for quick iteration of any artistic idea into reality. The Challenge Ahead:
As a Technical Artist, you will apply your rigging expertise to supporting our character creation pipeline tools. In addition to creating and evaluating character rigs, you will design, debug, and build pipelines and tools. You’ll have the opportunity to work on complex problems with artists and other engineers in the character pipeline domain, and develop workflows to improve quality and processes. You will also have the opportunity to provide quality verification support on our character systems. You will report to a team Development Director with support from the Technical Art Directors.
Day-to-Day, you will...
- Gather user requirements, design, debug, test, and maintain quality and reusable code.
- Work with customers (i.e., artists, engineers) to create and support pipelines, tools and automation processes for getting content from its source, through curation, and up to asset management system.
- Participate in code reviews, best practice documentation and other tech community projects.
- Create and execute test suites for workflow and pipelines.
You are / You have:
- 3+ years of experience as a rigger and/or related technical artist.
- Experience working with python.
- Experience working with other Riggers and/or Animators of all experience levels within games or film.
- Experience in the VFX, film, or gaming industry, utilizing production pipelines and common DCC apps (Maya, Motionbuilder, etc).
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Rigging, or related field or equivalent training and professional experience .
- Experience in testing the reliability and output of assets created in traditional rigging pipelines.
Bonus:
- Experience in the VFX, film, or gaming industry, utilizing production pipelines and common DCC apps (Houdini, Blender, etc.).
- Experience working with cfx artists, lighting artists, and software engineers within games or film.
- Experience in C#, C++ and working knowledge of .NET.
- Bachelor's degree, minor, or other education or equivalent professional experience in Computer Science.
- Knowledge of good software engineering practices (e.g., design patterns, object-oriented design).
