We are looking for a passionate, nimble, and creative Technical Artist to join our expanding and fast paced team!
Responsibilities:
- Design, create, test, and maintain character rigs/setups in Maya and Unity
- Collaborate with animators to design motion controls
- Partner with artists and other content creators to develop intuitive, effective tools
- Collaborate with engineers to facilitate a smooth flow of assets from art to in-game
- Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers in regard to asset performance and validation
- Explore new techniques and processes to solve technical art challenges
Basic Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years experience as a Technical Artist or TD in the entertainment industry
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Visual Effects, Graphic Art, Animation, or related field.
- Knowledge of Computer Graphics fundamentals
- Experience working with Maya and it’s Mel or Python API
- Strong understanding of rigging and skinning fundamentals
- Experience with Unity, Mecanim, and the animation tools and import pipeline provided.
- High level of comfort and familiarity with version control and asset management solutions (Perforce, git, etc)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive attitude towards being the bridge between Engineering and Art departments
Pluses:
- Unity C# scripting experience and tool development
- Experience with VFX
- Experience writing shaders and/or creating shaders with visual scripting tools such as Shader Graph in Unity
