We are looking for an Technical Artist to join our Skate team to help improve visual quality and improve rendering and surfacing. This is an opportunity to join us in the early stages of development. You will report to the Technical Art Director for Image Quality and work in collaboration with art direction, technical artists, engineers, and content creators on building visual targets, technology, and workflows to support the visual development of the project and meet the visual goals set by Art Direction.
Responsibilities
- Implement shaders and material pipelines to cover the needs of the content teams.
- Directly support content teams with trouble shooting or use of visual features
- Work with Technical Artists, Content Creators, as well as Rendering and Tools Engineers to define best practices, guidelines, and solutions for achieving visual targets while meeting performance and budget requirements.
- Stay current with, and exhibit a high degree of technical knowledge about current state-of-the-industry rendering and lighting techniques, content workflows, tools and pipelines.
- Attend planning and team meetings; Build user stories and create time estimates for project planning.
- Be able to assisting in profiling, optimization and support for content creators.
Qualifications

- 5+ Years Experience as a Technical Artist working on Image Quality, Shaders & Materials, Lighting, Post FX, Rendering, Performance, and Pipelines.
- Experience leading or driving visual features, pipeline or workflows on at least 1-2 shipped console/PC titles.
- Experience with Shaders, Lighting, and Rendering systems.
- Work with Content Creators, Technical Artists, and Rendering Engineers to build visual targets.
- Experience with shader architecture and material libraries for products and the supporting workflows and pipelines.
- Work with external partners, teams, engine developers to co-develop tools and technology.
- Work together with Tools and Rendering SEs to guide technology and tool development.
- Understanding of real-time game content and the requirements for these to be efficient and high quality.
- Proficient in shader authoring and languages such as HLSL or graph based editing.
- Direct experience with one or more of: creating or polishing surfacing assets, implementing or tuning lighting or prototyping and implementing rendering features.
- Some experience in sculpting, modeling, rigging and animation and understanding of the related workflows is also valuable.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
º $90,550 - $137,700
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $86,150 - $126,700
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also eligible for bonus and equity.
