Employment Status: Full-time, temporary (through July 2024) with the possibility of becoming a full-time, permanent position
Work Location: This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role could be any of the following locations: Bellevue, WA; Vancouver, BC; or Montreal, Quebec (preference will be given to candidates who are local or willing to relocate)

Summary
Final Strike Games is looking for a passionate and experienced Technical Artist to help bring a brand-new PC/Console Action Exploration IP to life. This role bridges Art and Engineering, integrating art assets into the game while upholding the artistic vision and adhering to the technical performance standards of the game.
The right person is hands-on in Unreal and embraces a collaborative and iterative development process as part of a cross-functional team. Duties include but not limited to:
- Collaborate with artists and programmers to create and optimize shaders that enhance visual quality and performance in the game
- Create, streamline, and optimize the content creation pipeline to ensure efficient workflows for artists and designers (must be able to set up pipelines for materials, shaders, etc. from scratch)
- Work with environment and character artists to improve the quality of materials and develop advanced shaders
- Troubleshoot and solve memory and performance concerns (and other core technical problems) in cooperation with other disciplines
- Proactively work with other disciplines to understand the issues they are having to help debug the problem
- Research and develop art pipelines to help bring the project vision to life
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Technical Artist role working in Unreal Engine
- 1+ shipped AAA Title(s) for PC or console as a Technical Artist
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, MEL, etc. and experience with shader programming
- Strong Unreal experience with Blueprints, materials, and lighting
- Experience writing tools to aid environment, object
- Strong ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple disciplines to achieve team technical objectives
- Dependable ability to create shippable quality content that is memory efficient and performant
- Ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly and efficiently.
- A creative problem-solver when it comes to technical challenges
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Absolute passion for playing and making console and PC games
Nice to have:
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following artistic disciplines: Environment/Level Art, Visual Effects, Surface Art, Lighting
- Experience with Jira or other bug tracking and project management software

The annual base compensation for a mid-level role is anticipated to be between $88,073 - $150,556 USD ($115,733 - $197,840 CAD) and the annual base compensation for a senior role is anticipated to be between $101,088 - $185,000 USD ($132,836 - $243,101 CAD). Final offer amounts are determined by a variety of factors, including where the work will be performed, and may vary from the range above.
