Moonshot is looking for a talented and passionate Technical Art Intern! Do you find that you’re both creative and technical; someone that enjoys scripting but also understands art? Does the prospect of becoming part of a small team working on our very first game fill you with excitement? Do you enjoy the challenge presented in developing tools, shaders, graphs and workflows for the art team that will make their lives so much easier? As Moonshot’s Technical Art Intern, your close collaboration with the other Technical Artists on the team and as well as other disciplines will establish and maintain a process that unlocks the creative potential for all involved. Your creative and technical voice will help shape the visual style and characters of an exciting and engaging world.

What You’ll Do:

  • Make tools in Maya and Houdini for creating art and helping Artists
  • Make graphs for VFX and Shaders
  • Collaborate and Communicate across departments
  • Evaluate Artists' needs, and identify issues, to understand and support them
  • Document best practices and standards to ensure workflows and pipelines are shared and understood

What We Need:

  • Familiarity with shader creation with either HLSL or Node Based Shaders
  • Some amount of scripting/programing ability in Python, C++, or node-based scripting systems like Blueprint
  • Familiarity with content creation in Maya, Houdini, ZBrush, 3dsMax, Substance Designer/Painter, or Photoshop
  • An artist first mindset
  • Experience with game engines, especially in Unreal Engine 4 is a plus

  • Comfortable working with not well defined problems and work to define and resolve methodically
