Team Lead (Front-End Programming) – Ubisoft Connect

Job Description
As a Programming Team Lead, you will oversee a group of frontend programmers in developing the web-driven user experience that powers Ubisoft Connect. You will work within a modern JS stack paired with React, GraphQL and TypeScript, to name a few.
Working within a multi-disciplined live production team, you will collaborate with creative, technical, quality control, and management peers. Your team will achieve its goals thanks to your technical know-how, leadership capabilities, and informed decision-making. Finally, when Ubisoft Connect features successfully arrive in the hands of our players, you’ll know you’ve contributed to delivering a reliable, consistent, and enriching experience!
About Ubisoft Connect
Ubisoft Connect is the ecosystem of player services for Ubisoft games across all platforms (consoles, PC, mobile, etc.) It aims at giving the best environment for all players to enjoy their games and connect with each other whatever the device. It is powered by crafted micro-frontend web-based architecture and uses a suite of highly scalable micro-services.
Our team’s day-to-day activities involve cross-studio collaborations between teams stationed in Montreal, Malmo, Paris, Bucharest, Dusseldorf, and Kyiv. Each studio works toward delivering a unified and cohesive product through use of shared technologies, UX & design standards, and operational processes.
What you’ll do
- Distribute tasks and follow-up on the progress of the various projects during team meetings.
- Provide your team with the tools they need to work independently and contribute to the long-term technological vision of the projects.
- Document problems and find solutions for them.
- Go over notable bugs and determine the best way to fix them.
- Communicate regularly with leads in other disciplines to plan ahead, assess risks, and deliver on time.
- Code alongside your team members.
- Meet with other leads, both on your project and others, to discuss ways to improve processes, identify dependencies, and share technologies.
- Meet individually with each member of your team to discuss performance, well-being, and career advancement.
Qualifications
What you bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
- Around 8 years of software development experience (or other relevant experience) + 3 years of management experience
- Proficiency in a variety of programming languages (especially JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, and HTML)
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- The ability to remain calm when faced with setbacks - you know there’s always a solution at hand
- An in-depth understanding of live operations
- Empathy that allows you to see from a player’s point of view, as well as your team’s
