This dynamic and engaging role does not fit the average definition of Systems Administrator. For SIE Studio IT, the Systems Administrator possesses skills and experience often found in both desktop support and data center administration roles. The right candidate is well-qualified technically and responsible not only for the implementation, maintenance, and the highest level of performance-tuning for critically important enterprise systems, but also for being a champion for strong working relationships directly with the people who utilize that technology.
This position builds and maintains support relationships with internal business teams, promoting trust, setting expectations, and achieving mastery in customer service. The ability to think strategically at a fast pace, while navigating interdependent-system relationships, all while driving multiple projects to successful completion in tight, shifting deadlines is the reality of this role and fuel for this extraordinary individual to prosper in this team.
Please note, flexibility is possible, but this is considered primarily an in-person role, reporting daily to offices located in San Diego, California.
Responsibilities:
- Provide local site administration of IT infrastructure: Server, security, networking, storage systems, client systems, and mobile devices. Collaboration with remote sites expected and encouraged.
- Perform first & second level support and troubleshoot for workstation and server class systems.
- Interface directly with end users in peril, lead and resolve incidents in an efficient manner, maintaining the highest levels of customer support and response, both in remote and in-person settings..
- Organize the unorganized, communicate thoroughly and effectively in both written and spoken forms across the organization.
- Implement and administer advanced Microsoft technologies in a fast-paced, complex environment.
- Work proactively to resolve potential issues existing in the environment. Apply performance tuning techniques where applicable.
- Use and maintain a virtual machine infrastructure.
- Create and maintain project plans and documentation.
- Work with development team and engineers to implement new services into production and facilitate knowledge transfer to peers.
- Research new trends and technologies leading to testing and justification for deployment.
- Collaborate with other offices and territories to plan and implement new technology.
- Be available off hours for scheduled system maintenance and emergencies.
- Appreciation and experience in platform/computer/video gaming is preferred!
Qualifications:
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; captures and analyzes information thoughtfully and develops alternative solutions.
- Proven understanding around Active Directory and related services; strong email/messaging administration experience; Mid to advanced-level understanding of Windows Server OS.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and other production software packages (Adobe, Maya, Zbrush, Visual Studio, etc.).
- Familiar with the concepts behind a distributed build system; familiarity with enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS, iSCSI) – NetApp, EMC, HDS ideal; basic networking skills; knowledge of security concepts and industry best practices.
- Manages competing demands and adapts to changes in the work environment.
- Volunteers readily, undertakes self-development activities and seeks increased responsibilities.
- Operates across multiple projects concurrently and assumes responsibility for implementation of projects.
