Summer 2020: Technical Production Intern

EA is seeking Technical Production Assistant Intern to assist in operation of EA’s new broadcast center at the EA Headquarters in Redwood Shores. You possess exceptional drive and work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills and a brilliant technical mind.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with all departments to help satisfy engineering needs of the broadcast facility
- Support technical setup and operation of video cameras, switching and routing systems, audio mixers, video and audio monitors, video servers, lighting and other associated equipment
- Prepare and maintain audio / video equipment for use during show
- Setup, distribute and collect equipment for production crew
- Perform other duties
- Partner with and work under the direction of the Sr. Technical Production Manager
Basic Technical Knowledge Required:
- Broadcast facility infrastructure and technology
- Comprehension of audio and video standards, signal flow and troubleshooting procedures
- Various types of audio/video signal flow (analogue XLR/TX, AES/EBU, SMPTE, Dante, AEX67, Fiber, SDI, etc.)
- Understanding of power over cables (dry, wet, phantom power/48V, PoE)
- Timecode and multiple sync types
- Digital routing switchers and control systems, preferably Evertz & Ross Video
- Video switchers/mixers, preferably Ross Video
- Distribution Amplifiers, Audio/Data dis/embedders, Frame Synchronizers, Converters/Scalers, Closed-caption encoders
- Basic computer networking skills and troubleshooting // Terminal commands, Telnet, FTP
- Computer formats such as HDMI/DVI/VGA/DisplayPort
- Cable termination include BNC XLR, TS, RJ-45 & Cable Management
Requirements:
- Enrolled student in a bachelors or masters program in the summer of 2020, slated to graduate between fall of 2020 and spring of 2021
- Passion for gaming, broadcast and live production
- Knowledge of broadcast operations and equipment
- Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies
- Hands-on knowledge of analog/digital/wireless signals
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people
- Professionalism and ability to be helpful and maintain composure under pressure
