Studio Development Director

We're looking for a Studio Development Director to join the Studio Leadership Team, responsible for leading Firesprite’s Game Production, Central Production and QA departments.

As Studio Development Director, you will be instrumental in helping us achieve our ambitious plans for 2023 and beyond, during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is an incredible opportunity to take a leadership position at a First Party PlayStation Studio, leading the production efforts across world leading franchises that will be showcased on the global stage.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be focused on the delivery of Firesprite’s games, with responsibility for the timely delivery of all project milestones and final releases. You will also be instrumental in establishing and embedding a Firesprite production philosophy that enables AAA development, supports innovation and delivers a world class development environment.
You will be aware of quality and the positive impacts of key features on schedule and you will be able to rationalise the needs of delivery alongside the needs of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Studio level leadership role, working across the development of multiple AAA projects and responsible for developing and delivering the studio roadmap in partnership with the Managing director.
- Leading Firesprite Production, Central and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of all project milestones and final releases. This role will be responsible for the on time and on budget delivery of all Firesprite game releases.
- Evolving and embedding the Firesprite production processes to establish a common ‘Firesprite way’ of delivering our games with an end-to-end production philosophy.
- Evolving, and where appropriate, implementing a robust project management process and culture of delivery within the team at all stages of development from pre-production through to final.
- Key Stakeholder in Studio level reviews of all projects according to milestone gates.
- Line management duties including Development Director level across all teams. This will include role definitions, 121’s, identifying training needs and goal setting.
Requirements
- Worked on at least 3 full AAA production cycles in a Senior position or higher
- AAA to scale development within a studio, preferably this plus Studio Development Director level experience
- People oriented leadership.
- Strong process background.
- Subject matter expert in project managing at low to high level
- Knowledge of Agile to scale, waterfall and systems like JIRA
