Staff Software Engineer, Service Platform

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and build cloud services that power our VR and AR-based training. Strivr delivers VR headsets, along with the client computer systems that support those headsets, to its customers, as well as our VR creation software. Those software clients all communicate with Strivr’s cloud, based in Google Cloud Platform, and provide both internal and external users an experience to manage VR analytics reporting, VR content, device health, and an admin portal for the thousands of sites where our VR systems are deployed. Our engineering team takes pride in building secure, enterprise-grade services with high reliability and solid monitoring systems.

Your responsibilities:

● Architect, design and implement software systems that connect all of our client devices

● Incorporate security, performance, reliability, and monitoring features into everything you build

● Design and use instrumentation and telemetry for monitoring and data-driven design changes

● Design and implement real-time communications between on-site client machines and the cloud to handle device updates, content management, telemetry, and monitoring/health operations

● Be a visible technical leader who can contribute to improving the overall engineering culture and processes

● Be a strong mentor and coach to other engineers on the team

Requirements

● 8+ years of software engineering experience, specifically with Cloud (PaaS, SaaS) services and solutions
● A solid background in C#, Java, or C++ development
● Experience in relational databases like Postgres, SQL Server, or Oracle
● Drive to write code and passion for shipping high quality software
● Ability to apply Computer Science concepts, data structures, and algorithms in order to solve programming problems
● Bachelors in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
