Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant

Storm8 looking for a talented, highly motivated individual to join its accounting team as a Staff Accountant. This Staff Accountant will be responsible for accounting operations, including but not limited to: processing payroll, full cycle A/P, posting journal entries, and preparing headcount reports. Additionally, this candidate is expected to possess Excel and analytical skills, have excellent communicative abilities with an upbeat attitude and a tremendous work ethic.


Responsibilities

• Own complete payroll process including preparation, time and attendance, data entry and reporting while ensuring compliance and accuracy with Federal and State regulations
• Reconcile payroll and other assigned accounts including, but not limited to, FSA, payroll taxes, vacation expense, etc.
• Own complete A/P process, including weekly check runs, wire transfers, and ACH payments
• Manage the 1099 and W-9 process to include the collection of proper documentation
• Prepare monthly Journal Entries and maintain Fixed Assets in a timely accurate manner
• Assist with Ad Hoc projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting or related field
• Strong understanding of accounting theory; working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
• 2-3 years Payroll, ADP - Workforce Now, Accounting experience
• Experience with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
• Comfortable in a fast paced, results oriented and hands on environment
• Prior experience in a high growth, start-up environment
