Sr Software Development Engineer, Amazon Games

Come play with us! Amazon Games is looking for a Sr Software Development Engineer who will own the architecture and operation of critical infrastructure for our live game services. Our team is focused on revolutionizing video game sales and distribution. We are untapping the power of Amazon for game developers by re-imagining Amazon Detail pages and creating a seamless purchase and digital fulfillment experience for players across all platforms. As an engineer in an advanced technology group for games, you will be a creative problem solver who is obsessed with building revolutionary AWS services from the ground up and delivering the best customer experience.

We are looking for a seasoned Software Development Engineer with a strong track record of building tooling to support large-scale services. This is an infrastructure development position where you will leverage your experiences of shipping quality software at scale. You will excel at communication, leadership, and customer focus. Please note: this role is open to candidates in either Irvine, California, Seattle, Washington, or other Amazon locations that can work Pacific hours.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ year relevant experience.
· 4+ years of professional software development experience
· 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
· 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
· Experience supporting large-scale high-availability systems in a production environment

Preferred Qualifications

· Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures
· Experience raising your tech stack's operational excellence bar by leveraging AWS tech
· Help drive the architecture and technology choices that enable a truly innovative user experience.
· Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills, with an enthusiastic attitude to support and resolve customer problems
· Experience supporting large-scale high-availability systems in a production environment
· Ability to work in diverse team
