Sound Designer

We're Studio Wildcard, developers of the smash indie hit ARK: Survival Evolved -- one of the most popular and original video games in recent years. Despite our massive success, we've been able to stay independent, so that we can steer our own future in games and beyond. There's never been a better time for you to join this adventure and help us build ARK II, the next chapter of our original hit franchise! We're expanding and updating many of the ARK community's most beloved features, while taking full advantage of the latest tools and technologies. And now we're searching for an exceptionally talented and passionate Sound Designer who can work with our Audio Director to create a visceral and immersive soundscape through inspired audio content creation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design sound assets for game content
  • Record foley for armor, weapons, items and props
  • Capture environment sounds during field recordings
  • Direct voice recording sessions; edit, process and export files
  • Work with an Audio Programmer to implement assets using Unreal Engine
  • Mix and master audio through in-game testing
  • Track content creation and QA with project management software

Qualifications:

  • Credits on previously released games
  • Expertise working with audio in a DAW
  • Practice with modern design techniques and sound synthesis
  • Special attention to creating unique creature vocalizations

Pluses:

  • Experience implementing audio content in Unreal Engine
  • Experience using ambisonics and convolution reverb
  • Detail oriented; able to control large amounts of assets
  • Strong communication skills
