Blizzard is looking for a Software Engineer to join the World of Warcraft Classic Team. In this role, you will make an impact on a variety of different game development areas including UI, server, data conversion, and g ameplay . You will partner closely with our design team to implement new features as well as iterate on existing systems. The ideal candidate enjoys working on a highly - collaborative and autonomous team. This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
- Collaborate with designers and engineers to build and improve gameplay systems , delivering exciting content for our players
- Identify and resolve issues , and discover opportunities for improvement
- Participate in and contribute to a culture of inclusion and diversity
To succeed, you must have…
- Fluency in C++ or C#
- Experience in a software engineering role or equivalent
- Self-motivation and willingness to participate in many areas of game development
- Excellent teamwork and communications skills
We’re also interested in hearing about…
- Academic projects related to game development
- Understanding of client/server architecture
- Familiarity with code and memory optimization in real time applications
- Knowledge of Lua or other scripting languages
- Experience with database development (MySQL, Oracle)
- Your experience and interest playing or crafting video games
- Knowledge of World of Warcraft or other MMORPGs

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $37.26 - $68.93 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
