We Need You
The Minions of Hell are growing stronger...
Are you a skilled Software Engineer with a keen interest in Level Art? Come Work with us on Diablo IV and help us create something extraordinary.
Our team of talented developers are growing. Our backgrounds are diverse, but we all share a real passion for what we do. We believe that if you’re looking for a tight-knit crew that celebrates self-expression and embraces collaboration, we will be a phenomenal fit for you.
Stuff We Will Trust You With
We are seeking software engineers to develop a sophisticated in-house suite of productivity tools used to build AAA video games, focused chiefly on the Diablo franchise. You will augment this team's existing software engineering skills and computing talents with your own. Together you'll bring technology to bear on tough, large-scale problems.
In this role you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams who are all cooperating toward a shared goal. You'll have the opportunity to learn and augment proprietary solutions for big data, performance optimization, real-time visualization, and user-centered workflows.
Our tech is battle tested and sophisticated, used in service of multiple products. Our codebases are large and almost entirely proprietary. Strong fundamentals in software engineering and computing are essential.
Working with fellow engineers to balance frequently changing priorities, your core responsibilities will be:
- Taking ownership of and being a point of contact for entire areas of our technology, collaborating closely with artists, designers, and other engineering teams as we iterate on toolchains to support content creation, engine integration, build pipelines, and more
- Conducting user-centered workflow development, from comprehensive mockups to creative and technical discussions to acting on post-ship feedback from content creators
- Exemplifying our studio's values among your peers and our partners: We Are In This Together, We Are Fearless Pathfinders, and We Are Leaders of our Craft
And yeah, you will need these things to apply
- Recent experience developing and debugging productivity applications—i.e. apps that people use to get work done—that adhere to well-understood architectural patterns, e.g. MVC, MVVM, client/server, etc.
- Proficiency in debugging and profiling tools such as those provided by Microsoft, JetBrains, etc.
- Proficiency in programming languages used for building Windows applications, e.g. C#, Java, etc.
- Demonstrable skills in at least one well-known GUI technology, e.g. Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), WinForms, Qt, Slate, dynamic web pages, etc.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or professional experience as a software engineer building complete applications from scratch
Optional, valuable skills include:
- Recent experience using C# 5.0+ and the .NET Framework
- Familiarity with interpreted languages used to extend existing software with new functionality or to automate complex tasks, e.g. Python, Lua, etc.
