Activision Central Technology (CT) is a group of engineers that collaborate with Activision studios to collaborate on an expert level in tools, graphics, systems engineering, and optimization! The CT analytic engineers support analysis and optimization of all parts of the asset creation, build pipelines, and automation across the studios. For example, we provide a centralized server farm, with specific systems for continuous integration and testing to managing our online gameplay servers.
Your Mission
Central Technology is seeking a Software Engineer, Analytics with experience building data infrastructure and performing statistical analysis on in-game features and technical solutions. This role will work on a team developing the next generation of data-driven technical challenges! They will work in areas such as optimizing/visualizing client to enterprise system/cloud workflows performance (memory, CPU, GPU, egress/ingress, and disk management) to analyzing / optimizing build pipelines, content creator workflows, and developer tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop tools for extracting, analyzing, and presenting game data
- Analyze substantial amounts of data sets to optimize game engineering workflows
- Collaborate with the team to deliver sophisticated analytics to our portfolio of games with an easy-to-understand visualization / UI
- Define new metrics and systems for observing, evaluating, and further optimizing business processes.
- Gather and prioritize requirements from engineers, content creators, and designers, whose success depends on your ability to increase their workflow efficiency.
- Take initiative to find and solve exciting problems across an ecosystem of cross-studio services and process.
- Perform research to acquire new knowledge vital to perform work you're doing and maintain a process of technological evolution
- Connect with other departments within the team and Activision global community to improve existing system and determine new solutions

- Experience writing and debugging software in C/C++, Python, Lua, and C#
- Experience with source control software (Perforce, Git, etc.)
- Solid experience working with Big Data technologies (Spark, Presto, SQL)
- Deep understanding of relational and non-relational databases (SQL, Postgres, Elasticsearch)
- Experience working with virtualized/containerized environments (EC2, EKS, Docker) in a production environment
- BA/BS degree in a technical field (computer science, math, physics)
Extra Points:
Central Technology would appreciate individuals with experience working in game development or w/ game developers that understand the content creation pipeline to backend services/online features. Experience with instrumentation would also be a bonus.
