EAX is a high performing team within EA that manages several digital distribution and subscription products including Origin and EA Access. Access allows users to purchase subscriptions and games on PC and console platforms. Users can stay connected to everything Access, take their pick of all the great games in ‘The Vault’ and play as much as they want for a low monthly, and even lower annual, subscription fee. In addition, they can put upcoming EA games to the test before the release date with exclusive Play First Trials.

What does a Lead Software Engineer do?
As a Lead Software Engineer, you are a versatile engineer with leadership qualities and enthusiasm to tackle new problems across the full-stack as we live on the bleeding-edge of technology. You have solid analytical and design and problem diagnosis skills in high performance network applications. You are highly accountable , own and lead projects , from managing design and architecture, competing priorities and ultimately the delivery of quality software solutions.
What you will do
- Be a Technical leader to 8-10 engineers in a cross functional scrum team.
- Own the technical design, direction and implementation of features in your scrum team.
- Use your deep knowledge in software engineering to design and implement maintainable, performant and high quality code.
- Work closely with other Technical leaders, aligning on best practices, with a keen sense of scalability and efficiencies in development.
- Work closely with production and design to deliver a best-in-class platform.
- Be a strong advocate for software engineering best practises, performance and quality mindset in your team. Work with other technical leaders to drive the culture.
- You are passionate about your craft. You feel ownership and accountable in everything you ship.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
- Extensive experience as a Professional Software Engineer
- Experience as a team lead
- Highly experienced in C++ development, in the domain of desktop application development on Windows/Mac
- Highly experienced in Software Architecture, OO designs and SOLID principles
- Innate ability to navigate in huge legacy code bases and transform them to maintainable and highly performant software, using incremental refactoring.
- Passion for self-improvement and always available to mentor.
- Proven experience of leadership role in areas of design/architecture, code review and testing.
Bonus Skills and experience
- Experienced working on Qt, Qt Webengine, Chromium
- Experienced with esoteric areas of Win32
- Experienced in reverse engineering
- Able to navigate through ambiguous requirements and drive towards delivering an end product.
