Software Development Engineer IISummary
The Technical Lead Database Engineer will be a forward-thinking role that can inspire where the database administration should go next so to position the System7000 for the future and to deliver the roadmap.
The contribution of this role is expected to broadly reach innovations that significantly impact the product, security, architecture of the System7000 databases on-prem and cloud based, and to resolve significant and unique production, deployment issues.
This will be the primary expert on multiple database areas such as database administration, design and development, for mature and new databases and has unique performance and security expertise.
The role will be accountable for critical database and server areas of new functionality in SYSTEM7000 roadmap releases, and will use judgment in determining what methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to employ.What you'll do
Job Requirements
- Develop and Maintain Stored Procedures, Schema Design, SQL Scripting.
- Develop and Maintain Database migration and replication tools and scripts.
- Install and maintain the performance of database servers.
- Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
- Develop processes for optimising database security.
- Set and maintain database standards and Document.
- Manage database access.
- Performance tuning of database systems and the database code.
- Install, upgrade, and manage database applications.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.
- Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.
- Create and manage database reports, visualisations, and dashboards.
- Create automation for repeating database tasks.
- Be available for on-call support as needed.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Electronics or a related field. Preferably a Master’s in one of these disciplines.
Experience: Requires a minimum of eight years’ experience in building enterprise class database administration using digital and cutting-edge server technologies. Should have delivered solutions end to end.
8 years of combined database administration experience across multiple databases like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo and other equivalent databases.
