Technical Artist, Professional Services / Artiste technique, services professionnels

Unity's Consulting & Development team is looking for a technical artist to help solve customer problems across different verticals, including gaming, automotive, and industrial. Our customers range from small, independent studios to globally-recognized brands.

Together, we’ll work to optimize their workflows, achieve their visual targets, and provide customized guidance on how best to use the Unity Engine. Your day-to-day work includes creating tailored solutions to meet their needs, and ensuring the success of their projects will often require independent internal research.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain art production workflow/pipeline by writing scripts/tools to aid artists to create more efficiently
• Become embedded with external customer teams to develop, optimize, and integrate art assets into their applications without sacrificing artistic vision or exceeding platform requirements
• Create or modify custom shaders for Unity applications
• Build close relationships with client teams and with Unity's internal R&D teams
• Efficiently solve problems, communicate, and educate our clients, both remotely and on-site at their offices
• Educate and assist clients ramp up on using the Unity Engine effectively
• Proactively train yourself to remain at the forefront of Unity Engine technology

Requirements

• Portfolio of previous work required
• Strong understanding of PBR lighting models and its interaction with materials
• Experience writing shaders for real-time rendering
• Professional experience working in real-time game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, or in-house)
• Basic scripting skills using C# or Python
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Self-driven and a great team-player
• Developer-focused, professional attitude, with an empathy for customers
• Able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25%

Bonus points

• Familiarity with the following tools: Substance Painter, Substance Designer, ZBrush, Photoshop, Houdini, PiXYZ, or VRED
• Experience creating particles or other VFX
• Experience with creating VR or AR games or applications
• Profiling and performance optimization of applications

Responsabilités:

• Développer et maintenir le pipeline et le flux de travail de la production artistique en rédigeant des scripts et des outils qui aideront les artistes à créer plus efficacement;
• S'unir aux équipes client externes afin de développer, d'optimiser et d'intégrer les ressources artistiques à leurs applications sans toutefois sacrifier la vision artistique ou dépasser les limites de la plateforme;
• Créer ou modifier des nuanceurs personnalisés pour les applications Unity;
• Établir des liens étroits avec les équipes des clients et les équipes internes de recherche et développement de Unity;
• Résoudre les problèmes, communiquer et éduquer nos clients de façon efficace, tant à distance que dans leurs bureaux;
• Éduquer et assister les clients à accroître efficacement leur utilisation du moteur Unity;
• Être proactif en matière de formation afin de rester à l’avant-garde de la technologie du moteur Unity.

Compétences :

• Solide compréhension des modèles de lumière en rendu physique réaliste (PBR) et de leurs interactions avec les matériaux;
• Expérience dans l’écriture de nuanceurs pour le rendu en temps réel;
• Expérience professionnelle avec des moteurs de jeux en temps réel (p. ex. Unity, Unreal Engine ou un moteur interne);
• Compétences de rédaction de base avec C# ou Python;
• Excellente capacité à communiquer en anglais à l'oral et à l'écrit;
• Motivation et excellence dans le travail d'équipe;
• Attitude professionnelle qui se concentre sur le développement, avec de l'empathie pour la clientèle;
• Capacité de se déplacer à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur du pays jusqu'à 25 % du temps.

Atouts:
