About the Role:

Limit Break is looking for a Senior VFX Artist to establish and maintain our VFX style and creation process on our upcoming game. This role will involve working heavily with a variety of other departments to achieve visual fidelity while adhering to technical and design constraints required for the desired platform. This position is an opportunity to build a team, and execute your vision for building a new VFX style and authoring pipeline.

This is a unique opportunity for an intellectually curious and hardworking individual to help the organization shape what best practices are for games involving blockchain technologies.

Responsibilities. What you’ll do:

● Work closely with the Art Director and Concept Art to drive the creation of high quality VFX simulations, textures, and materials

● Establish process, standards, documentation, and training

● Ensure that VFX art assets are built to high technical and efficiency standards

● Task and manage a team, both internal and with external

● Collaborate with Production to organize, schedule, and manage the VFX team's daily activities

● Partner with Engineering and Technical Art to build and improve the VFX art pipeline

● Troubleshoot a wide variety of issues in DCC tools and in game

Requirements. Who you are and what you’ve done:

● Passion for iterative design and peer-to-peer culture.

● 2+ years of professional experience VFX and leading teams

● Excellent understanding of timing, motion, and volume preservation

● Mastery of modern asset generation techniques in industry standard DCC tools (Maya/Houdini, Photoshop, etc)

● A solid understanding of performance budgets, and other technical requirements for building optimized content

● Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal

● Experience managing and collaborating with a team working remotely

● Extensive experience collaborating with other departments, artists, designers, and programmers

● Experience working with modern game engines such as Unreal, Unity, or proprietary technologies

Nice to have. What an ideal candidate looks like:

● Experience profiling and optimizing art assets for memory and performance considerations.

● Broad interest in real-time rendering technologies and art asset creation tools

● Experience with procedurally created or generated content
