Role Overview – Senior UI Artist
A fantastic opportunity for a Senior UI Artist to join a highly creative UI team here at HARDlight . In an industry that thrives on its user interactions, candidates will be expected to create high fidelity and visually stunning game interfaces to deliver the best player experience possible
Y ou will work closely with the design and art teams to concept, prototype and produce the UI for our games as well as developing 2D assets such as icons and illustrations for use in the games interface.
The ideal candidate is someone who can drive and enjoy the whole UI process of a game – from initial UX design, visual concepting, creating final assets and implementing them in Unity.
Duties
- Work closely with the game teams to concept, experiment, explore and develop a wide variety of game UI style and assets, including: logos, buttons, icons, HUDs and frontend menu designs.
- Help develop the UX for our game ’ s new features.
- Implement full UI systems in Unity from whiteboxing to final polished implementation
- Animate UI features
- Create and work within a broad range of styles from bright casual games to hard-core gaming genres.
- Design stunningly polished User Interface art assets that are flexible and efficient to a high quality and work with the team to ensure the UI is consistent and delivers on design goals.
- Iterate and refine designs and assets to continually adapt to market trends and visual styles.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 3 + Year’s experience in a related industry (Web, Mobile, Graphic Design or Console Games)
- Great understanding of user interfaces and user experiences .
- Excellent visual design skills with regard to colour theory, shapes, layout and typography with a great sensitivity to user-system interaction.
- Ability to design and present user interfaces from early stage (wire-framing) up to visual animated mockups and/or prototyping
- Internally driven and proactive, harbouring a deep passion for establishing and maintaining great user experiences and stunning visual design.
- Great 2D illustrative ability both freehand and technical vector art skillsets.
- Great communication skills and an a bility to clearly articulate reasoning behind design decisions.
- Knowledge of technical constraints, optimization and implementation.
- Proactive in learning and developing your skills to the next level .
- Highly motivated and passionate about video games with a good understanding of game development production processes .
A portfolio demonstrating all aspects of your skill is REQUIRED
Preferred experience
- Development experience on a wide variety of mobile platforms.
- Deep skills in Unity and it’s UI systems. Able to implement UI in Unity.
- Skills in animation and special effects (After Effects / Flash or similar).
- Advanced experience using Adobe Suite (After Effects, Illustrator , XD and Photoshop)
- Previous experience from creating casual and/or mobile games .
- Knowledge of 3D packages for developing rendered icons and visuals.
