We are Turtle Rock Studios. An award-winning game developer of AAA first person shooters and other games, including the latest co-op shooter franchise, Back 4 Blood . We are located in the heart of Orange County, CA and have team members working remotely throughout North America. We're looking for a Senior Tools Engineer to join the team! In this role, you will write plugins for common art production tools, add features to the toolset used to create game levels, maintain existing toolsets, and write new tools to help automate tasks. You will be working with all members of the team to facilitate their development needs.
Responsibilities
- Listen to and understand the needs of the content creation team to help design and create new tools/pipelines
- Work closely with the other departments to create and improve existing tools and help identify areas of improvement
- Partner with the tools lead and other department leads to help define and implement the technical vision for the project needs
- Integrate various tools with source control and with other tools
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional tools programming experience
- Comfortable working in an iteration driven environment and with minimal oversight.
- Strong communication and team problem solving skills
- Proficiency in C#, C/C++, Python and Visual Studio
- Familiar with Photoshop, Maya and 3D Studio Max
- Experience with writing shell scripts and/or other tools to automate tasks
- Rapid problem-solving and firefighting skills
- Understanding of different data and file formats and the tradeoffs between
Preferences
- Prior experience shipping a multiplatform title
- Previous work on Multiplayer Action Games and FPS's a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering

The estimated base pay range for this role is:
$121,000—$166,000 USD
