Senior Tools/Pipeline Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Pipeline / Tools Engineer to join the RuneScape team, working on the development and on-going enhancement of the RuneScape & Old School RuneScape content development tools, pipeline and associated systems, and the development of a major new project within the organisation.

Job Purpose
The Senior Pipeline & Tools Engineer will be responsible for helping shape and drive pipeline and tooling integration for the RuneScape and Old School RuneScape games and be a key force in designing and developing a major new project.
How you can contribute:
- Gain a solid understanding of the tools and pipelines in use on both our live RuneScape titles
- Design, implement, test and maintain new parts of the asset pipeline from source to live game
- Anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions
- Generate tasks to meet agreed goals and create documentation detailing code design approach and implementation
- Develop a close relationship with scripters, designers, artists and other developers, learning their methods and identifying opportunities for tech-driven solutions
- Enhance and help maintain our existing game engine tooling, pipeline and documentation
- Work closely with the Tools team lead and other engineers to plan and execute the Project Roadmaps
- Adhere to and maintain high software development standards
- Mentor junior engineers and participate in knowledge sharing across the business
What we need:
- 5+ years professional development experience to senior level
- Expertise in Java and/or C#
- Professional experience developing and maintaining a large-scale, high throughput asset pipeline, ideally in the context of games
- Experience working on a pre-existing, large-scale, codebase
- A passion for solving problems, a thirst for knowledge, regardless of stack
- A keen interest to learn new technologies and methodologies
- Relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent experience
What we'd love:
- Experience working on a variety of game systems and integrations into 3rd party technologies
- Additional experience with C++ would be ideal, other languages and scripting languages (Eg. Python or Lua) would be beneficial
- Experience of game engines or client-server and MMO games
