PLAYSTUDIOS is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join our playAWARDS Documentation team in Austin TX! Candidates must be self-motivated team players who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup-like environment. As part of our Documentation team, you work with the Lead technical writer, other staff writers, subject matter experts (SMEs), marketing teams, and engineering teams to create comprehensive and easy-to-understand articles, guides, instructions, and engineering documentation for a range of services and products. This collaboration with other teams ensures accuracy and broad outreach.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize complex material into structured, readable documentation
• Document PLAYSTUDIOS' proprietary systems and tools
• Document PLAYSTUDIOS' gaming SDKs and APIs, including installation and configuration instructions
• Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Project Managers to plan and support PLAYSTUDIOS' technical vision and ensure maximum content applicability
• Provide appropriate technical documentation for goal and audience
• Interview stakeholders to develop documentation requirements
• Meet with Producers and Product Managers to create or modify supporting documentation
• Coordinate with senior writers to plan, schedule, and produce appropriate and complete documentation
• Provide producers with estimates, updates on work progress, and alerts about impediments
• Test documentation to ensure correctness, accuracy, and flow

Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience as a Technical Writer; mobile gaming industry experience is preferred
• Degree in English, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred
• Impeccable editing skills with an eye for detail
• Experience documenting SDKs and APIs
• Experience with CSS and HTML
• Advanced and up-to-date knowledge of writing trends, tools, and technologies
• Proficiency with markdown, docfx, and “code to documentation” publication
• Experience with practicing Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with UI layout, usage, and UX principles
• Experience with Atlassian Confluence

Preferred

• Mobile gaming and casino domain knowledge
• Ability to read and understand developer-written code
• A passion for gaming, the game industry, and gaming trends
• Knowledge of single-sourced, topic-based documentation
• Familiarity with Plain Language documentation
